Three friends from Northern Michigan set out with a goal, to bring Knoxville a pizza that the public could be proud of. Sergeant Pepperonis was established in September of 2011 with the help of a fourth generation pizza recipe. Originating in Leland, a quaint town in Northern Michigan, you can taste the history.

Raised in Leland, Michigan, and spending most of his youth in the kitchen at his family restaurant of 80 years, Derek has restaurants running in his blood. The family restaurant in fact is where the recipe for Sergeant Pepperonis pizza took shape. He attended the University of Tennessee and was the original mastermind to bringing Pepperonis to Knoxville.
He has always been an avid follower of baseball, football, basketball, and especially the Detroit Pistons, Lions, and Tigers. It's probably safe to say, if its a professional team from Detroit, Derek will be rooting them on.
From Leland Michigan, Kevin graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in finance. His first job was washing dishes at the popular Bluebird Restaurant, where he worked for many wears. His interests outside of perfecting pizzas include reading business biographies, amateur investing, spending time with his girlfriend Ashley and his French Bulldog Bella, and he has recently become a huge fan of the NFL.
Born and raised in Traverse City Michigan, Jason is the youngest of four children. In his family, it was all about sports and food. He has been an avid basketball fan, playing four years in High School and two years at the collegiate level. Jason too, worked at the Bluebird for several years as a server in the tavern, along side his sister. His goal is to give Knoxville the best pizza they have ever had, and be consistent when doing so.
